    For me it was a Vitamin 6 (Inositol) shortage. Spent 5 years lifting & yo-yoing weight. Took 1-2g a day & my chronic hunger problems disappeared. Also the sugar cravings I'd had since adolescence.

    I truly believe that the biggest reason people struggle with not getting lean is mainly what type of foods you eat, not the quantity of foods you eat. There are studies showing that people who eat more whole plant foods are leaner than those who eat less: "A new study from Loma Linda University researchers shows an association between diet type and weight, with vegetarians having a lower body mass index than non-vegetarians. Interestingly, researchers found this association despite both groups in the study having similar caloric intake." I believe that's because of fiber. The more fiber you eat (from whole plant foods, not from supplements), the more good bacteria you have in your digestive system which helps make the metabolization of energy more efficient and research has shown that the fatty acids the good bacteria produce also suppresses appetite, causing you to eat less.

      @jhonatanjk1251 Місяць тому

      There are many reasons for that, fiber makes you feel more full, whole foods tend to have a higher thermic effect (I believe that's how it's written, i'm basically trying to say the amount of calories the body has to spend to process the food you eat). Ultra processed food makes it so much easier to overeat (both because it's tastier and the amount of calories) and also it has been predigested basically making your body easier to use those calories and store them as fat if you're in a calorie surplus.

    Strength standards and bodyweight standards have always made me feel inadequate. No matter how happy I feel about my physique or my progress, the standards that others set for me pull that away from me. Even people I deeply respect like Alex and Faz and Hersovyac put out content that makes me feel inadequate. They don't intend to do that; they are trying to help because they care and are passionate. But after six years of lifting I haven't hit what they think I should have hit by now. And when they say that I or others should have, it turns all that effort I've put in to nothingness. The thousands of hard sets, the thousands spent on protein, the countless times I've left social events to go home earlier so I can sleep longer, all of it is not enough. I thought I just had poor genetics, but I've convinced I'm normal. I just haven't yet reached their standards of 'normal'. In the three gyms I've been to over the last six years, I'm one of the biggest strongest natties there. But according to YT fitness, even people I think are wonderful creators and educators, I'm not big or strong enough. And in my friend group, I'm the jacked guy. They all tease me for being big and strong. Yet according to YT, I'm not big and strong enough. Again, these guys don't do it on purpose. They mean well. I just don't think they always see things as they are to others out there.

    I put a barbell across the jhooks. I put a 45 lb weight on one side…. I put a 6 inch rubber strap in the middle of the sleeve on the other side. I then use 550 cord rated at 1000 lbs. it has a carabiner on one end. I made a pvc pipe that I can stack weights on and I hook the carabiner to the top of the pvc. I then roll it up and down. I then reverse and roll it up and down the other way. I do 2up 2 down each direction and that is one set. I do three sets of 4. I am currently at 75 lbs. I started using bands but as the weight got heavier it started messing up my bands.. the rubber band is there to keep the 550 cord from spinning around the sleeve

    Hey Phil, I've been hitting the X Cannonball handle row 4x a week for 2 sets. Twice regular and twice meadows row style. I was doing sets of 11,10,9 but now 16,15,13. I do a lot of RDLs as well as, face pulls & upright rows. I feel like this is enough for back, and it's hard to recover from more. Suggestions? I can hit 160lb for 10.
